Mrs. Gandy passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 in Arlington, Texas. She was born April 11, 1913 in Denison, Texas. She was a member of Broadway Church of Christ, Lubbock for many years. Anna retired after over 20 years with Sears, as a manager in the catalog department. "Mama D" or "DD" as her grandchildren and great grandchildren called her was a strong willed lady with a love for her family that was as big as Texas. She was an animal lover, especially of dogs; and they loved her. She will be missed greatly by all those that knew and loved her. Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Afton Gandy; and sister, Faye Higgs.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Hesta and Hayden Barker; grandchildren and their spouses, Tommy and Gwen Rather, Renee and Rodney Macdonald, Craig and Julie Rather; six great grandsons, Ryan, Reece, T.G., Chase, Chandler and Trevor; three nephews, Brownie, Bobby, and Bodie Higgs.
