Although I met Lisa first (both of us were "happily married single moms" to our military husbands), I remember meeting Jeff when he came home for a visit. The first thing I noticed was the look in his eyes as he looked at his beautiful bride - he absolutely adored Lisa! It was a joy to see that love they had for each other and how supportive they were of each other's dreams. I think he was one of the most gentle men I have ever met - in spite of being a battle-proven Marine.
When Jeff retired, he jumped right into full "normal family" mode, although his gentle guidance couldn't but help but show through in the church youth programs. When my family went through such dark days, Jeff and Lisa were there to help me pick up the pieces. It still makes me tear up remembering him finding Pokémon characters for my Autistic son, because he knew that he loved them. He took my older son under his wing mentoring him by showing him what a gentle man of integrity looked and acted like.
All of my children looked to Jeff as kind of a 2nd dad - even called him Uncle Jeff.
As a Navy veteran, Jeff and I would tease each other about which service was "the best". I loved watching him and Lisa laugh together - it was absolutely contagious!
Thank you Jeff, for being the man of God, the stalwart Marine, faithful husband, and loving daddy.
You touched every life you chanced upon for the better.
You and Lisa love the Theatre, and I thought of some lyrics from the song, "For Good" from the play, "Wicked" that would apply to your life and everyone you touched....
"Because I knew you, I've been changed for good."
Lisa, Chloe and Timmy, we love you and will be praying for you. We hope to see you soon!
