Service for Ada “Lucille” Hauk Jobe, 86, of Alvarado will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 19, 2022 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Reverend Gary Moseley will officiate. Burial will follow in Sand Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Sunday, December 18, 2022 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jason Harwell, Jeremy Harwell, Hugh Bollin, James Bollin, Dylan Jobe, Dawson Trojacek, J.D. Parker, Hunter King and Chayton Smith.
Lucille passed away December 13, 2022 in Alvarado. She was born March 29, 1936 in Hill County, Texas to Quincy Charles and Lou Ella Scott Hauk. Lucille married James Franklin Jobe on September 22, 1951 in Cleburne. He preceded her in death in 2001. Lucille was a member of Sand Flat Baptist Church and worked for Walls Industries until her retirement in 1999. Lucille was a talented seamstress. She made clothes for generations in the family. Lucille was known for her cooking, especially her chocolate pies and banana pudding. Every Sunday morning before church she made buttermilk pancakes. She enjoyed working in the garden. Weeds didn’t stand a chance with her around. Fishing, traveling and spending time watching birds were favorite past times. Lucille was never idle. She was always doing something such as knitting, quilting or working on puzzle books. Her love of family, strong faith and sweet nature will be missed greatly.
Lucille is survived by her children and their spouses, Rick and Donna Jobe, Gayle and Jimmy Williams, Darla Bollin and Jan Murphy; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; siblings and their spouses, Charles and Judy Hauk, Laura and Buzzy Nickell, Delton and Nell Hauk, Bobby and Carol Hauk and Judy Keesee; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Lucille is also preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Charlotte Tidwell and 1 granddaughter.
