Agnes Elrod

Agnes Margaret (Maggie) Elrod, 96, of Grandview, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will be at the Cleburne Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7-8 p.m.
Agnes "Maggie" Elrod was born October 13, 1912 in Johnson County, TX, the youngest daughter of William S. and Agnes Brozella Carper Clary. She was a member of the Parker Baptist Church.She was married to Leslie L. (Dutch) Elrod on March 14, 1935 in Johnson County. They were married 68 years at the time of his death in 2003. She was a loving wife, mother and friend to many.
She was also preceded in death by her sons, Donald and Richard.She is survived by one son, James Elrod and wife, Margie of Joshua; one daughter, Phyllis Whitlock and companion, Richard McCoy of Fort Worth; two grandchildren, Mark Elrod and wife, Dena and Rhonda King and husband, James King; four great-grandchildren, Stephen Elrod, Collin Elrod, Jacquelyn King and Joycelyn King; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
