Agnes Joan Patton, 74, of Alvarado, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 14, 2011 with her loving family by her side.
Memorial service: 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel with the Reverend Eddy Carrell officiating.
Joan was born February 28, 1937 in Belfast, Northern Ireland to William and Ethel Baker. In 1955, she joined the Royal Air Force and worked as a filing clerk and packed and maintained parachutes. She was forced to retire under disability from an accident while on duty in 1959.
Joan married John "Pat" Patton of LaPorte, Indiana on April 21, 1962 in Riverside, California. Since Pat was in the Air Force, they traveled while stationed at various Air Force bases including the Philippines and Portugal.
Joan enjoyed cleaning house and spending weekends making short trips in the motor home. She liked to watch Animal Planet TV with her dog, Orie. She loved to listen to Irish music and most recently she enjoyed listening to her stuffed singing teddy bear sing an Irish tune to her.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Pat and grandson, Justin Landers.
Survivors: daughter, Sharon Patton; son, Billy Patton and his wife, Paula; granddaughter, Amber Clayton; grandson, Mark Patton; great grandsons, Braceon Landers, Justin Clayton, Koby Clayton and Kahner Clayton; sister, Edna Barr and husband Jim, brothers, Kenneth Baker and wife Marlene and David Baker and wife Lila; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
