Services for Clarence Alva “Al” Stone, 78, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 22, 2023, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel with Chaplain David Barnum officiating. Burial will follow in Rio Vista Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Jerry Dean, Danny Rogers, Tom Morgan, Jim Pack, Cooper Stone, Bob Redding, Case Stone, Troy Muench, and Charlie Stahl.
Al passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, in Fort Worth. He was born March 15, 1945 in Clovis, New Mexico to Charley Arley and DeAlma Verice Vaughn Stone. Al married SuZann Bartoo on September 19, 1970 in Lubbock. They were married 46 beautiful years. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church serving as an Ordained Deacon. Al served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam and received a Purple Heart. He worked for the City of Cleburne as a police officer with 25 years of service and Johnson County Sheriff’s office with 7 years of service. Al was a member of Cleburne Police Officers Association. He will be missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his son, Chad Stone and wife, Heather of Grandview; grandchildren, Katy Stone Muench and husband, Troy, Kinsey Stone, Cooper Stone and Case Stone; daughter-in-law, Jenny Stone; nephew, Mark Heath and wife, Becky, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Al is preceded in death by his parents; wife, SuZann Stone who passed in 2017; son, Shannon Stone who passed in 2011; and sister, Laquinna Heath in 2003.
