Alberta Mae Cutter was born on February 12,1945 in Crescent, Oklahoma to Albert and Juanita Cutter. She passed from this life on November 29, 2023. Alberta grew up in a large Christian family. As a teenager, she was baptized for the remission of her sins and added to the Lord’s church. She graduated from Crescent High School in 1963. She married Wallace Melvin Blalock on May 30, 1969 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and moved to Fort Worth, TX. They moved to Amarillo, TX in 1971, where Melvin preached the gospel. Their growing family moved to Mineral Wells, TX in 1975 where Melvin worked with the church. Then they established a congregation in Weatherford, TX. In 1985, they made their final move to Cleburne, TX. In 1986, she began working for Cleburne ISD as a bus driver for students with special needs. She retired in 2011 with 25 years of service. Alberta was a longtime member of the South Walnut Church of Christ. Many people enjoyed her cooking and hospitality on Sunday afternoons.
Alberta was proceeded in death by her parents, her siblings: Elwin Cutter, Rosemary Astley, Jerry Cutter, Jack Cutter, Winston Cutter, and Phyllis Head.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Blalock. Her children: Melanie Doty and husband Joe, Joel Blalock and wife Angie, Sarah Waldroup and husband Bobby. Grandchildren: Bryson, Braegan, and Katie Beth Blalock; Carly, Abigail, and Emily Doty; Thomas and Samuel Waldroup. Siblings: Duane Cutter, Charles Cutter, Melvin Cutter, and Glenn Cutter. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 P.M., Sunday, December 3, 2023, at the funeral home. Services are scheduled for Monday, December 4, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Lyndon Cox officiating. Kiason Turner officiating at graveside. Pallbearers are Bryson Blalock, Braegan Blalock, Bobby Waldroup, Bret Baze, Javan Torbett, and Craig Perkins. Honorary pallbearers are Thomas Waldroup, Samuel Waldroup, and Joe Doty. Congregational singing will be led by Levi Perkins. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
