Services for Alfreda Clark, 97, longtime resident of Keene, will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 12, 2011 in the V.O. Schneider Memorial Chapel in Keene Cemetery. Visitation will be in the chapel from 11:00 until noon.
Mrs. Clark passed away in Keene on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. She was born to Malcolm J. and Mary L. Barrett Plowman on January 22, 1914 in Melvern, Kansas. Alfreda was a highly respected and requested Registered Nurse in Johnson County for many years; serving as Nursing Supervisor at the hospital and Town Hall Estates. She married John Louie Clark on December 25, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Mrs. Clark was a committed Christian, an avid reader, and service oriented lady. Her giving nature and caring spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. Alfreda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son in law, Calvin; daughter in law, Karen; 2 grandchildren; and 11 siblings.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Carolyn and Dan Buckingham; Linda Hagelgantz; Bernie and Barbie Clark; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
