Services for Alton Ray Allison, 79, of Burleson, will be conducted at 2:00 on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Dr. John Hall will officiate. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 6-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Alton Ray Allison, a respected retired supervisor with Santa Fe Railroad (39 years of service), passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 79. He was born on October 22, 1945 in Cleburne to Jimmie Ray and Margaret (Terry) Allison. He married Pamela Mae Benjamin on October 26, 1968 in Cleburne. He was a great advocate for education, earning his bachelor’s degree in business from Washburn University of Topeka at the age of 39. Alton was a beloved storyteller and never met a stranger. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, classic cars, and collecting railroad memorabilia.
Alton leaves behind a family that adored him. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Pamela Mae Allison, residing in Burleson. Together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and precious memories. Alton is also survived by his son David Dwayne Allison, and his spouse, Ronda of Cleburne. He cherished his sister, Barbara Lathem of Edgecomb, Maine. Alton was exceedingly proud of his grandchildren: Michael Bradley Houston and his spouse, Cindy; Marcie Kay Allison and her partner, Travis Kerr; and Allie Mae Allison. He adored his great-grandchildren: Waylon JamesRay Houston, Madison Chy’Anne Houston, and James David Houston.
Alton was preceded in death by his father Ray Allison and wife Dell, and his mother Margaret Heslip and husband Raymond, and his beloved son, Jonathan Ray Allison.
Alton will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and his profession, leaving behind family and friends that he deeply cherished.
