Alton Lemons

Services for Alton Lemons, 76, of Scroggins, Texas, formerly of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 15, 2008 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Rev. Bill Hardage will officiate, with Eulogy by granddaughter, Candice Watson. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harry Ricker, Justin Ricker, B. J. McCorkle, Billie Lemons, Corey Baker and Alvis Lemons. Mr. Lemons passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2008 in Tyler. He was born January 5, 1932, in Ryan, Oklahoma to Fred and Sally Jane Green Lemons. He married Carlene Holden June 22, 1958 in Cleburne, Texas. Mr. Lemons was a retired groundskeeper and a member of Clearwater Baptist Church, in Winnesboro, Texas. He loved to laugh and tell jokes. Alton Lemons is survived by daughters, Vicki Ricker and husband, Harry, of Crowley and Freda McCorkle and husband, B.J. of Grandview; grandchildren, Candice, Justin, Corey, Kaylee and Karleigh; sister, Wanda Hall, of Longview; brother, Don Lemons and wife Jessie, of Cleburne and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carlene, February 12, 1995, son, Ricky Odell Lemons and brother, Charles Lemons. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 6-8 P.M.
