A memorial service for Andrew Claxton Donaldson, Jr., 83, of Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania, will be conducted at the graveside of his parents, in Rosehill Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2007. Chaplain J.R. Duncan of the Irving Fire Department will officiate.
Andrew Claxton Donaldson, Jr. passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2007 in Irving, Texas. He was born September 9, 1923 in Cleburne, Texas to Andrew Claxton, Sr. and Lovada Bell Arnold Donaldson. He married Ethel Gredzinski on November 24, 1945 in Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Donaldson retired as a building inspector for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and also was a stone mason. He served in the US Army Aircorp during WWII. He was a member of United Presbyterian Church in Mt. Carmel, PA, a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge of Mt. Carmel, the Scottish Rite in Bloomsburg, PA and Schriners Cedar Lodge #378 in Mt. Carmel.
Andrew Donaldson, Jr. is survived by his two daughters, Joy Berns and husband Albert of Sabinsville, PA, Andrea Newbury and husband Robert of Northumberland, PA; two grandsons, Eric Berns of Harrisburg, PA and Joel Newbury of Lewisburg, PA; 5 great-grandchildren, Marissa, Alex, Austin, Preston Berns and Chole Newbury; two sisters, Betty Jo Donaldson Chadares of Dallas and Gwen Donaldson Henwood of Irving; loving nieces and nephews and special family friend, Lorain Teufel of Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Donaldson in 2006 and sister, Mary Donaldson McCoy.
