Anita Oliver Hutson, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 3rd in Cleburne, Texas and gained her heavenly wings.
Services will be conducted on Saturday, April 7th at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel, in Cleburne, Texas. Brother Weldon Coble will officiate assisted by Bryan Barrett, Envoy Hospice Chaplain. Burial will follow in Rio Vista Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jackey Williams, Jerrell Williams, Charles Sims, Wendell Sims, Jack Jordan, Gary Hutson and Mike Hutson, all her beloved nephews. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons Jeff Cumins and Brad Hutson. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
Anita AKA Granny Woman, was born April 21, 1933 in Cleburne, Texas to Cecil Oliver and Hilma Elrod Oliver. She married Edward “Bear” Hutson on March 3, 1951. He preceded her in death June 8, 2009.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon Cumins of Rio Vista, son Duane Hutson and wife Cynthia of Kopperl. Grandchildren Amy and Lee Moses, Brad Hutson, Jeff and Tina Cumins all of Rio Vista, Audrey and Madison Cotton of Dallas and Elaina and Tagg McNeil of Fort Worth. Great Grandchildren Abbie Herring, Zak Moses, Tucker Downs, Ethan and Andy Cumins, Nathan Barrett, Carmen and Dalton Hutson. Great-great grandchildren Cash and Allie Herring, Jaxtyn Downs.
Anita was a true Rio Vista Eagle. She worked for RVISD for 31 years before retiring in June 1998. She began her career in 1967 as an aide for 1st graders, then worked as a Title 1 aide. She also worked in the office and eventually become the tax accessor & collector from 1984 until retirement in 1998.
She loved her children and grandchildren and loved having a good time with her family. She lived life to the fullest. These past 4 years being unable to be in her home and enjoying her family was very hard on her. She was loved and respected by many and will be terribly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister and best friend Mary Ann Williams and her beloved son-in-law David Cumins.
