Service for Anita Kay Groover, 52, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 22, 2011 in the First Mount Zion Baptist Church. Pastor Pearlye Brown will officiate. Pallbearers will be Lionel J. Carlton, Brandon Carlton, Trevor Taylor, Stanley Grant, Trenton J. Carlton, Keith Grant, Jamel Groover and Ray Johnson. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Groover passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011 in Fort Worth. She was born April 17, 1959 in Cleburne to Robert and Omellen Norwood Grant. She married Moses Groover on Oct. 6, 1979 in Cleburne.
Mrs. Groover was a personal service representative for the Texas Workforce Commission. She was in workforce services for more than 13 years and had many years service with childcare services also. She served on the East Cleburne Community Center board of directors and was a member of the First Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Moses Groover, daughters, Tanesia Groover and Triston Groover; son, Moses S. Groover; granddaughter, Nyima Earl; grandsons, Stephen T. Anderson and Kendon Weathersby; mother, Omellen Grant; sisters, Valerie Carlton, Angela Taylor and Cynthia Brown and husband Ernest and brother, Edward Grant, all of Cleburne; brothers-in-law, Willie J. Grover and wife Lynn of Detroit, Mich., James Groover and wife Donna of Burleson, Ernest Groover and wife Dee of South Carolina; sister-in-law, Helen Holt and husband Alvon of Inkster, Mich. ; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Grant, and two brothers, Stanley Grant and Robert Grant, Jr.
