Service for Anita Louise Smith, 86, also known as “Nanny”, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, March 5, 2021 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne funeral home.
Anita Smith was born to George William and Ollie Lorene Bransom Hiner on November 14, 1934 in Cleburne. Anita married Arthur Lee Smith on March 7, 1952 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She was of the Methodist faith. She was known to be an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching college basketball, a fan of the Rangers baseball team and watching bull riding. She was a homemaker that enjoyed reading and baking mincemeat cookies. She was strong willed and had a big heart. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially all of her grandchildren.
Anita is survived by her daughters, Nancy Bullard, Jo Prenger, and Suzanne Wigand; son-in-law, Brian Brauer; 7 grandchildren, Jared Knutson, Brent Bullard and wife Tracy, Molly Needham and husband Jim, Michelle Morton, Jack Smith, Sarah Pronger and husband Patrick, and Larrs Brauer; 13 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kathryn Bonham along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Anita is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Lee Smith; daughter, Janet Brauer; and sister, Georgia Baxter.
