Anna Keen

Funeral service for Anna Mae (McGowan) Keen, 94, of Joshua, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 30, 2022, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Landon Dees and Dr. David Hampton will officiate. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery at a later time. Church Deacons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the funeral home.

Anna passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022, in Fort Worth. She was born October 1, 1928, in Bald Knob, Arkansas to James and Naomia (Collison) McGowan. Anna married Herman (L.T.) Keen on October 5, 1946, in Bald Knob. They were married for 70 years before his passing on May 17, 2017. She started her nursing career in 1962 and retired from Huguley Hospital in 1997 at age 69. She was a member of North Pointe Baptist Church in Burleson and a charter member of Hulbert Baptist Church in 1948, known as Angel Way Baptist Church in Marion, Arkansas today. She also was a member of the Women’s Mission Union and taught Sunday school. She had a strong faith and rarely missed church. Anna had an impeccable work ethic and gave all she had. She believed in doing things right and following through until the job was complete. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting and working in her vegetable garden. She will be greatly missed.

Anna is preceded in death by her parents, husband, L.T. Keen; daughter, Barbara A. Keen and nine siblings.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Leonard J. and Patricia Keen; adopted grandchildren, Tony and Amy Roberts; sisters, Evelyn Waller and Jose Stross; numerous nieces, nephews, her church family and a host of other relatives and friends.
