Service for Anna Fay Sessums Ward, 82, of Keene will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 21, 2018 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Wade Yarbro will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Bradley, Nick Moore, Kyle Moore, Jeff Shaffer, Brady Chamberlain and James Raulston. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 P.M. Sunday, at the funeral home.
Anna Fay Sessums Ward passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018 in Keene. She was born June16, 1935 in Blum to Oscar Carl and Freda Mae Green Sessums. She married Newton Roy Ward on August 6, 1954 in Johnson County and he preceded her in death on November 30, 2014 after 60 years of marriage.
Mrs. Ward worked as a beautician. She owned and operated Parkway Beauty and Dress Shop in Fort Worth for 32 years. Mrs. Ward loved going to the movies, dancing with Roy, traveling, and listening to gospel and bluegrass music. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren play sports. She was a member of Covington Eastern Star Chapter No.1007, Blum Eastern Star Chapter No.931, Lady Oriental Shrine Nyanca No.34 Past High Priestess from 1998-1999, and Garden Acres Baptist Church.
Survivors include her two daughters, Karla Moody and husband Wayne of Covington and Darla Key and husband Clint of Burleson; six grandchildren, Daniel Key, Kiesha Key, Jarred Shaffer, Brazos Moody, Jordan Moody and Brandi Ward; five great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Key, Cameron Key, Isaiah Key, Kelsey Burdick and Braidin Burdick; and a nephew, Kenneth Bradley and wife Claudine of Covington. She was also preceded in death by her father on November 11, 1969; her mother on June 29, 2006; and son, Roy Glenn Ward on March 4, 2018.
