Cleburne, Funeral services for Annie Lois Saunders Burgess, 105, of Cleburne, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Cleburne's Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home Chapel, with Kevin Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Saunders, Robert Saunders, Keith Saunders, Chris Saunders, Wayne Saunders and John Saunders.

Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.

Annie Lois Burgess, a retired employee of the Duke and Ayers Store in Cleburne for twenty-three years, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2005. Mrs. Burgess, the oldest of eleven children, was born October 25, 1899 in Maypearl, Texas. She married William Wade Burgess, December 25, 1926. He preceded her in death October 4, 1974.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Robert Edward and Flora May Sharp Saunders, brothers, James Houston Saunders, Oscar Saunders and Raymond Eldon Saunders, sisters, Mary Ada Chance, Lona Alice Henderson and Mamie Ellen Carter.

She is survived by brother, Robert Edward Saunders, Jr., of Cleburne; sisters, Gladys Marie McKnight, of Granbury and Helen Juanita Crawford, of Fort Worth; sisters-in-law, Essie B. Saunders, of Fort Worth and Doris Ruth Saunders, of Cleburne and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
