Arthur Applegate

Funeral services for Arthur Eugene Applegate, 68, of Godley, will be held at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Godley on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. Reverend Kenneth Coleman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Godley Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 4, 2010.

Mr. Applegate passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 in Godley. He was born to Joseph Dewey and Flora Ince Applegate on October 22, 1941 in Oroville, CA. Arthur retired six years ago after operating several businesses, including A&A Upholstery and Applegate Custom Cabinets. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a private man, who enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially in his garden or hunting and fishing. He had a passion for dancing. "Papa", as his grandchildren called him, will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sons, John and James Applegate; daughter, Kimberly Applegate-Wood; grandsons, Aaron and Kyle Darby; and siblings, Bill, Virginia, Ruthie and Katie Applegate.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Kathy and Paul Haines of Cleburne, David and Kathy Jean Applegate of Godley; grandchildren, Amanda, Heath, Michael, Amber, Stephanie, Ashley, Zachary, Cody and Hanna; great grandchildren, Christopher, Lance, Jade, Noah, Drew, Chloe, Blane, and two more on the way; siblings, Johnny Applegate of Fort Worth, Dewey and Gene Applegate both of Cleburne; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
