Arval Martin

Arval Yancy Martin, Jr., 95, of Cleburne, Texas passed away peacefully on May 26, 2023.
Arval was born on March 15, 1928 in Haskell, Texas to Arval Martin, Sr. and Ara Savahana Willis and was the oldest son of 3 children. He was raised in Cleburne, TX and graduated CHS in 1946. He was the beloved husband of 76 years to Annie "Ann" Grisby Martin married 3/15/1946, father to 3 children and Da to numerous grandchildren. He was a !9 year City of Cleburne Councilman, a Worship Leader at Buel Baptist, College Heights and Joyful Noise and business owner of Martin's Food Mart. He was a long time Member of Field Street Baptist Church.

Arval is survived by his children Sherry and husband Robert Ledbetter of Cleburne; and Kay and husband Steve Harris of Burleson; grandchildren : Tricia and husband Mark Reynolds of Arlington; Catheryn and husband Brian Martindale of Cleburne; Dawn Acker of Cleburne; Lee Harris of Chicago, IL; Lisa and husband Louis Giddings of Burleson; Amy and husband Jojo Castillo of Cleburne; David and wife Terry Martin of Amarillo, TX. 13 greatgrand children and 5 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Ann Martin, his son Steven Martin, his father and mother, and his two sisters, Mary Graves Painter and Joann Hunt, and granddaughter and great-granddaughter.

Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Monday, May 29, 2023 at 10:00am in the Crosier- Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the Crosier-Pearson from 3:00-5:00.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Field Street Baptist Church.
