Services for Evangelist Aubrey (Randy) James, 81, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 12, 2005 at the National Cemetery in Grand Prairie. Pastor Alvin Robinson will officiate. Pallbearers will be the Johnson County Longhorn detachment of the United States Marine Corps League.

Randy James was born September 26, 1923 in Waco, Texas to Aubrey Randolph James, Sr. and Melvina Emily Painter James. He married Patsy Jo Shelton on December 4, 1992, in Cleburne. He was the founder/president of the GoTel Ministries, pastor of several churches and youth groups, a member of the Johnson County Longhorn detachment of the United States Marine Corps League, was an ordained minister, served as Chaplain to many hospitals, worked in radio as a Gospel DJ and Christian Talk Show Host, most recently with KBW Radio in Waco. Randy was a volunteer Chaplain for the Texas Criminal Justice System, the Cleburne Police Department's Victim Chaplain Association of America, a board member of Operation Blessing of Johnson County and received the Legion of Honor Award from the Chapel of Four Chaplains. Randy was a veteran of World War II, served in the United States Marine Corps, survived 36 days of combat on Iwo Jima, was wounded and received the Purple Heart.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Jo James, of Cleburne; son, Steven James, of Pima, Arizona; stepson, Barry Evans, of Dallas; stepdaughter, Sheri Beacham, of Midlothian; grandsons, Randy James, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Justin James, of El Cajon, California and Michael James, of Pima, Arizona; step-granddaughters, Sheena Beacham, Alicia Beacham and Amber Beacham, of Midlothian; sisters, Neila Jordan and Naomi Vandaveer, of Dallas and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert James and sister, Maybel Howerton.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 Pm, Sunday, September 11, 2005 at Crosier-Pearson-Cleburne Funeral Home, 414 N. Main Street, Cleburne.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Texas or GoTel Ministries.
