Service for Avelino Martinez, 75, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, July 16, 2016 in the First Baptist Church of Covington. Pastor Miguel “Mike” Barrera will officiate. Burial will be in Itasca Cemetery.
Avelino Martinez passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in Cleburne. He was born Oct. 31, 1940 in Smithville to Jesus and Eliza Ramon Martinez. He married Romelia Moreno on March 27, 1971 in Dallas.
Mr. Martinez served in the United States Army and was the CFO at Age Industries, retiring with more than 26 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith. His love and devotion to his family and friends will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years, Romelia M. Martinez; daughter, Rebekah Martinez-Scott and Willie Scott, III; grandchildren, Jasmine Faith Scott, Esperanza Regime Scott, Chloe Joy Scott, and Amy Grace Scott; siblings, Gilbert Martinez and wife Naomi, Ernest Martinez and wife Sara, Edward Martinez and wife Rebecca, George Martinez and wife Cindy, Linda Schimpf, Beatrice Hernandez and husband Joe, Pauline Grubb and husband Larry, Caroline Durham and husband Barry, Anita Friday and husband Larry, Elizabeth Hill and husband Kevin, and Mary Flores and husband Fermin; sister-in-law, Margaret Martinez; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Carlos Martinez.
