Services for Avis Pauline (Alred) Reston, 92, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 4, 2020 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Joshua Price will officiate. Pallbearers will be Steve Zager, Terry Bradwell, Tony Salinas, Paul Rosselot, Michael Sexton and Daniel Florez. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M., in Rising Star Cemetery, Rising Star, Texas.
Avis Reston passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020, in Cleburne. She was born December 25, 1927 in Jamestown, Tennessee to James Sanders and Ada (Reagan) Alred. She married Stanley Reston on February, 21, 1959 in Kingston, Tennessee. She worked in the health profession in Long-Term Care.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Avis was a proud, loving, serving military wife. She had a passion for hospitality and would help others at the drop of a hat. She possessed a strong work ethic and didn’t retire until the age of 81. She had the ability to build relationships with those around her and sought out opportunities to invest in people’s lives. Avis could say what needed to be said, the way it needed to be said, to whomever it needed to said and did so with a loving balance.
Survivors include her children, Jerry L. Sexton and husband Michael, Robert Alred, Anna Marie Easton and husband Dell, and James Reston and wife Jaye; grandchildren, Amanda Sexton (Tony) Joseph Sexton, Christopher Reston and spouse Shaun, Stephen Reston, Nick and Faby Easton, and Joe Easton; great-grandchildren, Aaron Sexton, Christian Sexton, Caleb Sexton, Shelby Sexton, Nick Easton, Alex Easton, Anella Easton, Mateo Easton, Zoey Reston and Zane Reston; brothers, Morgan Alred and wife Kathy, and Keith Alred and wife Jeannie; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Stanley Reston; parents, James and Ada Alred; sisters, Billie Alred, JoAnn Alred, Shirley Dickerson, and Margaret Peagram; and brothers, Blain Alred, Eugene Alred, Tommy Alred, and G.T. Alred.
