Services for A.W. "Tink" Bruce, 82, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Henderson Street Baptist Church. Rev. Eddie Freeman and Rev. Dan Burt will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Bruce, Kenny Beck, Ricky Baker, Danny Foss, Jimmy Scott and Lindsey Upshaw. Honorary pallbearers will be Jody Bruce, Roger Baker, John Adams, Deward Bruce, George Winkler and Lee Noble.
A.W. "Tink" Bruce passed away Monday, October 13, 2008 in Cleburne. He was born December 7, 1925 in Glen Rose, TX to Lee Andrew and Mary Josephine Riley Bruce. He married Evangeline Hampton on November 11, 1947 in Weatherford, TX.
Tink was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His first love was his Lord and Savior, but his family came in a close second. He was proud to have retired from Santa Fe. To Tink, automoblies were love at first sight, and he was an avid Nascar fan. He was a long-time member of Henderson St. Baptist Church, where he raised his family to love the Lord as well.
Tink Bruce is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Evangeline Bruce of Cleburne; sons, Steve Bruce and wife, Suzanne of Cleburne and Kenneth Lee Hampton of Ft. Worth; daughter, Angie Briscoe and husband, Rick of Cleburne; daughter-in-law, Lisa Bruce Noble and husband, Lee of Cleburne; 7 grandchildren, Paige and Monica Briscoe, Joshua Bruce, Gabi Bruce, Jacob Bruce, Jordan Bruce and Hogan Bruce; great-grandson, Sam Hampton; brothers, Roy Bruce and wife, Jean and R.L. Bruce and wife, Marilyn; sisters, Jane Mayberry and husband, Wayne, Margie Moore and husband, Danny and Bersha McIntyre; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, David Bruce; grandson, Kenny Hampton; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
