Barbara Davis

Graveside service for Barbara Ann Hobdy Davis, 84, of Weatherford will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 in the Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.

Barbara Ann Davis passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Oct. 7, 1928 in Eden to Homer and Esther McWilliams Hobdy. She married John Stephen Davis Jr. on Dec. 9, 1945 in San Angelo.

Mrs. Davis worked for many years at Frigette Corporation in Ft. Worth. After retirement she worked part time for Main Place Cleaners. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Godley. Barbara devoted her time and energy to raising four sons, caring for her parents and husband and spending time with her grandchildren. Always cheerful, loving and joyful, we will miss our sweet Grandmamma.

Survivors include her son, Joe Paul Davis and wife Tammy; sister, Florine Hartman; daughter-in-law, Wayne Ann Davis; special friends, Joe and Beverly Demers and Jerry and Kathy Robinson. Barbara was blessed with ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; several other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John S. Davis Jr.; daughter, Bertha Naomi Davis; sons, John Clay Davis, James Thomas Davis and Larry Stephen Davis; stepdaughters, Jo Ann Raney and Stevie Overby; sister, Margaret Eaton; brother, Homer "Sonny" Hobdy and granddaughter, Tonya Nicole Davis Zamrzla.
