Entombment services for Barbara Gertrude (Fisher) Estep, 81, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 28, 2021 in Greenacres Memorial Park Mausoleum. Minister Kern Porter will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Adam Rose, Rachel Hacker, Brandon Hacker, Caitlin Rose, and Derek Estep. Honorary pallbearers will be Aubree Rose, Wyatt Hacker, Morgan Estep, and Clarke Estep.
Barbara Gertrude Estep passed away May 23, 2021 in Cleburne. She was born August 8, 1939 in Pulaski, Tennessee to Noble Clinton and Violet Ivadell (Pratt) Fisher. She married C. Wayde Estep in Alabama in July 1957. Barbara was an avid reader, loved watching television and solving word puzzles. She was a Red Hat and enjoyed volunteering at the Bridge Westhill Food and Clothing Center. She worked at Piggly Wiggly for 29 years and then at David’s Grocery for 4 years. Barbara moved from Nashville, Tennessee to Cleburne, Texas in 1967 and was a member of Westhill Church of Christ for 53 years. Barbara was invested in the ministry, with a constant presence on the church bus and by picking people up on a regular basis. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Barbara is survived by her son, Terry W. Estep of Cleburne; daughter, Gerry Estep Rose and husband, Dale of McKinney; sister, Sheila Peugh of Cleburne; grandchildren, Derek Estep and wife, Lauren of Brenham, Rachel Hacker and husband, Brandon of McKinney, Caitlin Rose of Little Elm, and Adam Rose of Fort Smith, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Clarke Estep, Aubree Rose and Wyatt Hacker; sisters-in-law, Paulette Fisher and Loyce Shaw; nephew Clinton Fisher and her cat Diamond, companion of 12 years; along with other extended family and loving friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, C. Wayde Estep; brother, Billy Fisher; niece, Paula Kaye Fisher; nephew, Billy Fisher II.
