Service for Barbara Nanette Sparks Story, 78, of Cushing, OK will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Friday, March 31, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Otis Mann will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Jewell, Jimmy Noble, Mark Suratt, Dan Socia, Richard Bonotto and Dale Haney. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Barbara Nanette Sparks Story passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in Alvarado. She was born September 6, 1938 in Cleburne to J.D. and Emma Lee Horton Sparks. She married Reggie Robert Story.
Mrs. Story was a homemaker. For many years she taught Sunday school, was a children’s church leader, WMW ladies prayer warrior and helped with vacation Bible school. She was an artist and an excellent seamstress who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Mollie Bea Rankin of Alaska and Janette Marie Socia of Cleburne; eight grandchildren, Zack Clark, Nessa Clark, Daniel Rankin. Arrick Rankin, Cash Socia, Kaycee Stewart, Kotie Anderson, and Jaye Dee Cobble; nine great grandchildren, Emmy, Brandon, Valerie, Darin, Bradley, Brison, Kloe, Karsyn and Reggie; brother, Ronnie Lee Sparks of Forney; sister, Shellie Ann Bonotto of Cleburne; and several other relatives and friends who will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Tommy Dale Rankin and Bobby Gene Socia; and two brothers, Jerry Dean Sparks and Charles Wayne Sparks.
