Service for Barbara Scott Palmer, 100, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial to follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Although there is no set visitation, friends and family are welcome to sign the register book at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Scott Palmer, Dave Maltsberger, Derrell Maltsberger, Cody Maltsberger, Drew Murphy and Neal Logan.
Barbara passed away Monday, October 3, 2022, in Cleburne. She was born August 21, 1922, in Cleburne to Roy Payne and Mary Tina (Austin) Scott. She married Derrell Franklin Palmer on October 12, 1947, in New York City, New York. They were married 61 years at the time of his passing on February 22, 2009. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cleburne. She was extremely devoted and active in her church. Barbara was a loving, strong, classy but modest individual that was giving and believed in supporting her community. She was even tempered and had a calm spirit about her and was a loyal friend. Barbara enjoyed traveling world-wide, Scotland being her favorite destination. Being part of and hosting her Bridge group, as well as her Friday and Saturday night club events and gatherings brought her much joy. Baba will be missed greatly. Her years of life lessons and love will be forever remembered.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She is survived by her children, Scott Palmer, and Elaine Maltsberger and spouse, Dave; grandchildren and their spouses, Derrell Maltsberger and Audria, Cody Maltsberger and Pam, Lindsay Murphy and Drew; great-grandchildren, Christian, Elijah, Mia, Emma, Tucker, and Gunner; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
