Services for Barbara Pugh, 69, of Rio Vista, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 8, 2012 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel with Rev. Charles E. Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Rio Vista Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday.
Heaven received a special angel on Sunday, March 4, 2012. Barbara passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born to Cecil Clayton and Cora B. Carper on July 26, 1942 in Lone Willow. She married Albert Pugh on July 24, 1970 in Rio Vista. Barbara worked in inventory control for GOEX for over 17 years before becoming a full time homemaker. She was of Christian faith. Barbara was a loving and kind hearted lady with an independent spirit. She enjoyed ceramics and gardening. Barbara was an avid bird watcher, having photographed thousands of birds over the years. Her strong will and cooking talents will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Pugh and her parents, Cecil and Cora Carper.
Survivors include her children, Clayton and Leta Pugh, Tina and Darrell Stanley, and Robert and Rachel Pugh; grandchildren, Jessica Pugh, Vanessa and Blaze Coonrod, Eric and Jessica Abbott, Nathan Abbott, Michael, Sarah, Emily, and Sophia Pugh; great grandchildren, Torren Coonrod, Ryan Stanley, and Leighton Abbott; siblings, John and Peggy Carper, Janie and Glenn Junge, Betty and Brady Curtis, and Doris and Johnny Stout; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
