Graveside service for Barbara Underwood, 67, of Rio Vista will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 at the Rio Vista Cemetery. Mr. Joe Maxwell will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 P.M., Sunday, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
Barbara Underwood passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 in Ft. Worth. She was born Aug. 24, 1949 in Johnson County to Othell Everett and Una Alice Hackler York. She married James Carl Underwood on Nov. 19, 1971 in Hill County and they resided in Rio Vista.
Mrs. Underwood was a LVN and was of the Church of Christ faith. She loved her grandchildren; her church and asking “are you ok?” Barbara will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Virginia Cook and husband Russell , James Underwood and wife Deirdre, Jacob Underwood, of Rio Vista; her beloved mother, Una Alice York; grandchildren, Austin, Thomas, Liam, James, Maeven, Aisling, Wyatt, Quentin; three brothers, Gary, Weldon and Jimmy; two sisters, Betty and Donna; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995; father; daughter, Jayme Underwood; and a nephew, Steven Wynn.
