Beatrice Read

Graveside service for Beatrice Plant Read, 84, of Abilene, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 in the Greenwood Memorial Park in Ft. Worth. The Rev. Eddy Carrell will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the Greenwood Funeral Home in Ft. Worth.

Mrs. Read passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 in Abilene. She was born Aug. 29, 1928 in Saginaw, TX to S.L. and Nettie Day Whitaker. She married L.B. Plant in 1946 and was married until his death. She then married Nathan Read on Jan. 7, 1977 in Okla.

Mrs. Read was a secretary with Lockhead Aircraft and retired in 1984, after 35 plus years service. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Nathan Read; stepdaughter, Deborah Stanford and her husband, Bill; nieces, Diane Hood and husband, Mike; lifelong friends, Jan and Jim Myrow, Peggy Alexander and her husband, Clifford and nephew, Jim Wood. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, L.B. Plant and daughter, Linda Kay Plant Garrett on Aug. 24, 2012.
