Ben Ross Stricklin, 72, Pastor of Sand Flat Baptist Church passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009 in Fort Worth. He was born to the late, B.C. and Mary Lee Stricklin on September 20, 1936 in Marlin, Texas. Ben Ross married Tina Jane Eppright on June 6, 1958 in Victoria, Texas. He attended Texas A&M, received his Bachelor and Masters degree at Sam Houston State College and graduates courses at Texas A&I. He was a strong leader and active in community affairs and with numerous organizations and clubs. Mr. Stricklin served as Associate Pastor at Cana Baptist Church and currently as Pastor of Sand Flat Baptist Church. He retired as Assistant Superintendent with Everman ISD, where he has enjoyed spending time at the farm. He was an avid animal lover. His loving nature and giving spirit will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him. Mr. Stricklin was preceded in death by his parents; and oldest son, Ross Stricklin.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Tina Stricklin; children and their spouses, Dr. Clark and Suzanne Stricklin, Reagan and Jennifer Stricklin, and Pamela and Stephen Chastain; grandchildren, Jonathan, Nick, Danielle, Kelsea, Kayla, Blaine, Colby, and Conner; siblings, Mary Elizabeth Abendroth and Billy Clark Stricklin; nine nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, September 14, 2009 at Cana Baptist Church in Burleson. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 pm, Sunday at the funeral home.
