Funeral services for Benito D. Munguia, 77, of Cleburne, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Rev. Adam Villarreal of Moreno Valley, California will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday.

Mr. Munguia passed away on Friday, June 4, 2010 in Cleburne, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on July 27, 1932 in Lyford, Texas to Teodoso and Olaya Davila Munguia. He married Maria Villarreal on April 3, 1952 in Edinburg, Texas. He was a longtime member of the Pentecostal faith. He retired from the Texas Department of Transportation after 10 years. He had a passion for horses and he trained, bred and boarded them for many years. He was a determined man who worked arduously to give his family the very best. He was also a migrant worker, traveling with his family to Wyoming, Nebraska, Ohio and Michigan. He was generous and had a sensitive spirit, characteristics that will be missed by all those that knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Teodosa Munguia, Jr.; and great granddaughter, Jocelyn Salazar.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Maria Munguia; his eight children (six sons and 2 daughters) and their spouses, Benito Jr. and Vicenta Munguia, Richard Munguia and Ana Smith, Romeo and Victoria Munguia, Roland and Naomi Munguia, Ruben and Gloria Munguia and Joshua and Sally Munguia, Naomi and Richard Aguilar and Mary Esther and Martin Gudino; 21 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 brothers; 10 sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, and many relatives.
