Graveside services for Bertie Preston Burns, 85, of Ft. Worth will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Rosehill Cemetery. Bro. Zeke Taylor will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.

Bertie Preston Burns passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009 in Ft. Worth. She was born March 30, 1923 in Hugo, OK to Lee and Myrtle Mosely Preston. She married Robert S. Burns on August 28, 1941 in Tarrant County, TX.

Mrs. Burns was a partner and operator of A-1 Electric Motor Service in Ft. Worth. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Rendon, where she was Sunday School Teacher. She was a leader of Camp Fire Girls and a long time member of Refrigeration Service Engineer Society Auxiliary and held all the different chairs in the auxiliary.

Bertie Preston Burns is survived by her daughters, Johnnie Niemann and husband, Bill and Rejeania Thily and husband Daniel; son-in-law, Bobby King; grandchildren, Robert C. King II and wife, Carolyn, Coby King and wife, Cheryl, Christy Dewveall and husband, Scott, Aaron Norris and Natalie Vrbetic and husband, Bryan; great-grandchildren, Kendrick and Trey King, Blake Dewveall, Preston and Adyson King, Keegan Vrbetic and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Burns and daughter, Robbie King.
