Service for Beryl Rives, 94, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:30 PM Friday, October 26, 2012 at the New Hope Baptist Church. The Reverend Steve Mullen will officiate. Burial will be in Baker-Lain Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Rives, Jeremy Rives, Justin Rives, Rickie Leck, Corey Turnbow, Tyler Rives, Johnathan Rives and Colt Bishop. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Beryl Rives passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in Cleburne. She was born October 18, 1918 in Johnson County to John Albert and Lena Maggie Jones Crook. She married William Glenn Rives on April 8, 1939 in Kopperl, Texas.
Beryl loved to cook, sew and read. She led many children in her life to the Lord. She loved her caregivers as she did her family. The family wants to thank each of them for their love, friendship and kindness they gave her for the past four years.
Beryl was a very strong Christian lady, who lived for her Lord.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church since 17 years of age.
Beryl Rives is survived by her sons, Kenneth Rives and wife, Sandra and Curtis Rives and wife, JoAnn all of Cleburne; grandchildren, Gina Leck and husband, Rickie, Angie Turnbow and husband, Corey, Jason Rives, Jeremy Rives and wife, Jessica and Justin Rives and wife, Crystal; great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Kayley Leck, Colt Bishop and wife, Amber, Lacey Crites, Carley Turnbow, Tyler, Johnathan and Aurora Rives and Connor Campbell; great-great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Hunter Bishop; sisters, Norma Lou Moore, Ruby Nell Patrick and Joyce Dawn Brock; brother, J.C. Carl Crook; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Rives in August 1972; infant son, Donald Winston Rives in 1942; sisters, Virginia Morrow and Wilena Athens.
