Bessie Jones

Bessie Juanita (Dink) Jones, a loving wife, aunt and friend went to be with her Lord, December 30, 2008 at the age of 92 years, 6 days.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2009 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Interment will be in Georges Creek Cememtery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 1 at the funeral home.
Juanita, lovingly nicknamed "Dink" since a toddler, was born December 24, 1916 to Thomas Jefferson and Bessie Annie (Love) Whitt in Bell County.
Dink married Roy V. Jones on January 10, 1940 in Ft. Worth, TX. They moved to Houston until WWII, when she moved back to Ft. Worth while he served in the Army Air Corps. When he returned in 1945, they moved back to Houston. In 1982, they relocated to Blum, TX.
Dink was a member of United Methodist Church in Blum, and was very involved with the Blum Volunteer Fire Department and Blum Community Center. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
Dink was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Una Cavasos, Lillian Wren and brother, Jim Whitt.
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Roy V. Jones of Blum. She is also survived by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends who loved her dearly. She will be greatly missed by all.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to John and Linda McPherson for their love and extended help to all of the family.

Memorials can be made to Georges Creek Cemetery Association or the Blum Volunteer Fire Department.
