Bessie Reid

Service for Bessie Reid, 97, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 31, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend John Glover and the Reverend Alan Lane will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ben Reid, Gregg Shepperd, Matt Gray, Chris Wachsman, Rex Harris and Bill Burrow. Burial will be in the Peoria Cemetery in Hill County. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Thursday, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Reid passed away Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 in Cleburne. She was born March 3, 1913 in Hill County to Lacy and Donzie Wood Dearmon. She married Fuller Reid on November 4, 1932 in Marietta, Okla.

Mrs. Reid was a homemaker and a rancher. She was a member of the Blum Chapter #931 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Blum Quilting Club. Mrs. Reid was a life-long member of the Baptist Church.

Mrs. Reid is survived by her son, Dan Reid and wife Patsy of Austin; two daughters, Martha Jane Shepperd and husband Bill of Cleburne and Marilyn Minze and husband Lloyd of Katy; sister, Dallie Ripley of Blum; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fuller Reid on September 7, 1969 and one sister, Della Gollihar.
