Funeral service for Beth Griffith, 72, of Cleburne, will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in Green Acres Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home on Thursday, March 24, 2022, from 6-8:00 P.M.
Beth passed away unexpectedly at her home on March 18, 2022 in Cleburne. She was born on November 2, 1949, to Martin and Miriam Ripley Griffith.
Beth graduated from Cleburne High School in 1968 and from North Texas State University in 1972. She later got her master’s degree from TWU. She taught over 40 years in Cleburne at Santa Fe Elementary, Cooke Elementary, and later in the GED program. She loved teaching and loved her students.
She enjoyed gardening, especially her irises. She was a member of the Johnson County Garden Club and the Cleburne Iris Club. She volunteered at the Rainbow Room. Beth taught swimming lessons for many years and was very active in Camp Fire. Beth also loved reading and traveling with her mother. Family, especially her nieces and nephews, have always been a big part of her life. She won a life-saving award given by Woodman of the World by using the Heimlich Maneuver to save her mother’s life. Beth left a mark on all who she came into contact with and will be missed greatly.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister, Janice Smith and husband, Don; sister, Sherry Smith and husband, Dave; brother, Martin "Nooner" Griffith and wife, Barbara; 7 nieces and nephews as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews and other relatives.
