Bettie DeLaune

Services for Bettie Jones DeLaune, 82, of Joshua, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 31, 2013 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P..M. Friday, February 1, 2013 in the Barea Cemetery, Jefferson, Texas. Visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Bettie passed away surrounded by loved ones in Keene on Saturday, January 26, 2013. She was born to Edgar E. and Ruby Mitchell Jones on December 12, 1930 in White Right, Texas. She was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith. Bettie worked as a cosmetologist and then as a nurse for many years, taking pride in both careers. She was a talented painter, quilter, crocheter and an avid reader. She was family oriented to say the least, always happy to organize get togethers and reunions so that everyone was together. Some of her favorite times were of the family together camping and fishing. She was famous for her cooking and baking abilities, especially of breads and jellies. She will be remembered for always being there with open arms and heart for those who needed her whether they be family or friends. Bettie’s loving nature and giving spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children and daughters in law, Derrell DeLaune and wife, Elizabeth, Melissa DeLaune, Pam Chappell, Robbye DeLaune, and Troy DeLaune and wife, Gidget; grandchildren: Wayne, Darren, Alishia, James, Carmen, Amanda, Clifton, Michelle, Pat, Crystal, Robert, Stacey and Jason; numerous great grandchildren, sister, Martha Morris; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
