Funeral services for Betty Brown, 86, of Blum, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 3, 2023 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in the Blum Cemetery, Blum, Texas. There will be a time of visitation held at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, February 2, 2023.
Betty Brown passed away at her home in Blum on Saturday, January 28, 2023. She was born to Eldridge Elbert and Mary French Gilbreath Taylor on July 4, 1936 in Hillsboro, Texas. Betty married Morris Earl Brown on June 12, 1954 in Hill County. They were married 34 years at the time of his death in September of 1988. She was a member of Blum Baptist Church. Betty retired in 1998, after over 35 years as a home painter with Texas Re-Construction of Fort Worth. She was a feisty lady, who believed in doing things her own way. She was free with her thoughts and opinions, never leaving you to wonder what she thought or where she stood on most any subject. Betty was an avid cat lover. She spent countless hours fishing on the river, enjoying each moment. Betty was also a crafter of all sorts. Her love of life and family will be fondly remembered by those closest to her and missed greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Patsy Ann Brown; and brother, Billy Taylor.
Survivors include her children, Taressa “Gail” Fergason, Wesley Brown, Carolyn Patterson, and Ricky Brown; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; siblings, Gary Taylor, Rita Taylor, and Debra Taylor; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
