Betty Recer

Services for Betty Stuart Recer, 92, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, August 15, 2021, in St. Mark United Methodist Church of Cleburne. Dr. Andy Tyler will officiate. Burial to follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne funeral home. Pallbearers will be John Brian Bennett, Austin Beene, Jeff Beene, Jon Westley Bennett, Morgan Bennett, and Sam Samuels. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffery Beene, Fritz Lewis, and Charles Carman.

Betty passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021. She was born May 17, 1929, in Cleburne to Alvin Homer and Ocie Ola Mae Denton Stuart. Betty married Clifford Eugene Recer on August 20, 1949, in Denton. Betty was a homemaker and a volunteer for Walls Hospital since 1980. She served as President of Walls Hospital Auxiliary and was past president of TSPS Auxiliary and served in many capacities at St. Mark United Methodist Church where she was also a member. Betty was a part of Woodmen of the World organization and Texas Society of Professional Surveyors Auxiliary.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Lana Grantham of Murchison, Texas, Sara Recer of Danbury, Connecticut, Carol Beene and husband, Jeff of Shreveport, Louisiana; grandchildren, John Brian Bennett, Jeffery Beene and wife, Erin, Allison Beene and Austin Beene; great-grandchildren, Jon Westley Bennett, Madison Bennett, Morgan Bennett, Max Beene, and Sienna Beene; sisters-in-law, Pat Stuart, Wenona Carman and husband, Charles; five nieces and nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends. A special thank you to her longtime caregiver and friend, Shirley Hollis.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford Recer; brother, Joe Denton Stuart; sister, Cathy Stuart Shaw; and brother, Howell Stuart.
