Beverly Griffith

Beverly Ann Starnes Griffith was born on November 24, 1941 in Cleburne, TX to John Sr. and Annie Marie Starnes, and passed away on January 4, 2023 in Austin, TX. She was the oldest child to her two brothers, John and Mike Starnes. Beverly met her husband, Paul Griffith III, at Cleburne High School and their first date was their senior prom in 1960. After high school, Beverly attended business school in Fort Worth. She worked for Frontier Pontiac in Fort Worth and then was an office manager for Gibson’s in Cleburne. However, the majority of Beverly’s working years were spent in banking, where she served various bank locations for 30 years.

Paul and Beverly got married in 1962 and were blessed with two children, Terri Lynn Griffith and Paul Griffith IV. Beverly loved traveling, playing card games with family and friends, reading, and watching game show network and old western movies. Paul and Beverly hosted many celebrations at their lake house on Lake Whitney, and Beverly loved any time spent with her lake family. Throughout the years, they were blessed with two granddaughters, Miranda and Mallory. They spent weekends and summers swimming in the lake and playing games at the kitchen table with Memaw. Years later, Beverly was thrilled to welcome her great-grandchildren, Logan, Jack, Madelyn, Robert, Anna, Myla and Ellie into the mix. The most recent family memory was a weekend in October spent in Broken Bow, Oklahoma celebrating Paul and Beverly’s 60th wedding anniversary. Beverly loved any time spent with her family.

Beverly is survived by her husband of 60 years, Paul Griffith III; brother, John Starnes Jr.; daughter, Terri Griffith (partner, Rita Hakkila); son, Paul Griffith IV (wife, Kathy); two granddaughters, Miranda Thompson (husband, Joe), Mallory Arvo (husband, Ryan); extended family Brandon Pittenger (wife, Courtney), Rhyland Ramirez (husband, Rai); and 7 great-grandchildren. Beverly is preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother, Mike Starnes.

A memorial service will be held at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 14, 2023.
