Graveside service for Bill Eastus, 84, of Houston, formerly of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Monday, at the funeral home.
Bill Eastus passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Houston. He was born in Cleburne on Nov. 14, 1929 to Ira Carl and Elsie Faye Baker Eastus. While enlisted in the Army and stationed in Ft. Gordon, Georgia, he fell in love with and married Ruth Dukes of Wren, Georgia. They made their home in Cleburne where they raised their family. Bill was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad and retired after 38 years of service.
He is survived by his two children, Wayne Eastus and Cara Hawthorne; six grandchildren, Ashlyn Eastus, Autumn Eastus, Ryan Hawthorne, Colin Hawthorne, Grant Eastus, and Adam Eastus; three great grandchildren, Coleson Garrett, Ellie Garrett, and Hope Hawthorne; one brother, Roy Eastus; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Ruth Eastus; sister, Betty Jane Trussell; and first born son, Douglas Eastus.
