Graveside services for Bill Gilley, 62, of Grandview will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 28, 2011 in the Grange Hall Cemetery, Rio Vista. Tad Gilley, Randy Anderson, Mark Martin, Mike Gilley, Michael Gilley, Ryan Gilley, Joe Rogers, and Randy Farmer will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Tyler Anderson, Jake Anderson, Billy Stanford, Bob Pritchard, and Mike Frye. Visitation will be at Crosier Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Mr. Gilley passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born to J.W. and Juanita Lula Foust Gilley on October 21, 1948 in Fort Worth. Bill married Belinda Nell Turner on November 26, 1971 in Burleson. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burleson. Bill served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was a carpenter with Bell Helicopter for many years, where he was known for not only his skilled talent, but also for his dedication to the job. Bill was a music lover and played bass guitar for The Drifters for over 36 years. He was a member of the Nolan River Masonic Lodge, Rio Vista. Bill was an honorable man, one who family and friends could depend on with sincerity and thoughtfulness. He enjoyed garage sales, flea markets and was an avid collector of various antiques. Bill loved gardening, cooking, and fishing. He had planned to devote his retirement to sharing all these things he enjoyed with his family. Bill's love of life and laughter will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Belinda Gilley; children, Toby Martin and her husband, Mark, Tabby Anderson and her husband, Randy, and Tad Gilley; grandchildren, Megan and Shelby Martin, Tyler, Jake, and Maycie Anderson, and Tate and Talyn Gilley; father, J.W. Gilley; brother, Mike Gilley and his wife, Louise; sisters, Diana Terry and her husband, Dennis, and Melissa Wilson and her husband, Richard; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
