Service for Bill Hopper, 92, of Godley, will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Friday November 10, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Randy Tucker and the Revered Rudy Rudewick will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. prior to service.
Bill Hopper passed away on Tuesday November 07, 2017 in Granbury. He was born October 04, 1925 in Grandview to S.W. and Bessie Maude (Cowan) Hopper. He married Ardelle Bailey on December 30, 1947 in Cleburne.
Mr. Hopper was a carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and served in the U.S. Navy. Bill served the community throughout his professional life by working at the ASCS Office, feed mill owner, farmer, and postman. His personal life was love of family, gardening, traveling/eating, and Navy stories. Bill's social life included being a member of Godley Methodist Church, Godley Lions Club, Godley Masonic Lodge #822, and long time volunteer at Walls Cleburne Hospital.
Bill is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ardelle Hopper of Godley; daughters Beverly Karnes and husband Jack of Arlington and Sharon Johnson and husband Richard of Clifton; grandchildren Shelly Willeford and husband Jeff of Crawford, Amy Mathiesen and husband Andy of Mansfield, Matthew Barton and wife Sindy of Cleburne and Brian Karnes and wife Catherine of Arlington; 17 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. . He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers Dick Hopper, Gin Hopper, Marvin Hopper, John Hopper and two sisters Ruth Hopper and Mildred Walls.
