Bill Shockley

Services for Bill Shockley, 81, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2008 in the Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Payne will officiate. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2008 in the DFW National Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Bill Shockley passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2008 in Cleburne. He was born July 1, 1927 in Dallas to William Bartley and Laura Marie Campbell Shockley. He married Lou Ellen Griffin on January 20, 1951 in Lancaster, TX.

Mr. Shockley served in the US Army and worked in the banking industry for 35 years, as a teller then an auditor and vice president. He formerly lived in DeSoto and Lake Alvarado before moving to Cleburne. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Bill Shockley is survived by his wife, Lou Ellen Shockley of Cleburne; daughter, Kate Hicks and husband, Dan of Cleburne; grandchildren, Juli McKinney and husband, Matt of Medina, OH, Jake Hicks and wife, Krystal of Cleburne, Kimberly Carpenter and husband, Steve of Flower Mound and Stephen Hicks and wife, Susan of Flower Mound; five great-grandchildren, Jackson Montgomery McKinney, Tyler and Kami Carpenter, Matthew and Morgan Hicks.
