Bill Stanfield

Bill R. Stanfield, 82, of Keene, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2009.

Mr. Stanfield was born to the late, John Hood and Laura Mae Elsworth Stanfield on July 4, 1927 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He worked as United States Post Master in Keene, and the last to be appointed by a President of the United States. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Keene Independent School Board for over 33 years. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna Morrel; brothers, Roy and Jack Stanfield; step son, Michael Small; and two grandsons.

Survivors include his wife, Harriet G. Sinclair Stanfield of Keene; daughter, Kathy Doran and husband, Ronny of Fort Worth; son, Mark Stanfield and wife, Jeanie of Cleburne; daughter, Jeannie Kerley and husband, Wade of Atlanta, TX; step children, Troy Montana, Jessie, Sue Ann, and Pat Small; 23 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Janeta Douglas of Waco and Janet Curtin of Columbus, OH; and a host of other relatives and friends.
