Services for Bill Tarter, 79, of Nemo, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, September 16, 2021, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial to follow in Faulkenberry Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the funeral home.
Mr. Tarter passed away Friday, September 10, 2021. He was born November 4, 1941, in Cleburne, to Martin Franklin and Thelma (Griffith) Tarter. Bill married Ruth Ann Wilson on March 22, 1996, in Burleson. He was of the Methodist faith. Bill was an engineer for TXU, retiring with 39 years of service. He was an animal lover. Living on the river, he was able to enjoy all the critters at his home daily. He was an outdoorsman, having spent countless hours fishing and tending to his acreage. He was an avid reader and fan of the Texas Rangers. Bill was one of a kind and a man that once he accepted you, you were his. He loved his family and traveling when able to. He had an independent streak and a strong will. Bill’s many lessons and teachings will be forever treasured.
Mr. Tarter is survived by his daughters, Cyndi Murphree, and husband Clovis, Deann Fredrick and husband Patrick; grandchildren, Trey Tarter, Summer Burkhart, Ty Murphree, Dylan Bishop, Denton Bishop, Keira Fredrick, and Kohan Golightly; 4 great grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son, Jay Tarter.
