Graveside services for Billie Jean Bowling, 76, a homemaker of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in Cleburne Memorial Park. Reverends Charles E. Payne and Earl Sides will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home on Tuesday.
Mrs. Bowling passed away Saturday, January 1, 2011 in Fort Worth. She was born to Asa and Lexie Boyd Rushing on December 14, 1934 in McComb, Mississippi. She married the love of her life, Clyde Bowling on August 21, 1953 . Billie was a longtime, active member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served on the Food Committee and volunteering in the church office. Mammaw was known for her cooking. She enjoyed ironing for others and garage selling. She was the ultimate bargain hunter. Billie's loving nature and giving spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, William Bowling; infant daughter, Nancy Bowling; one sister and one brother.
Survivors include her grandchildren and their spouses, Gary and Ashley Bowling and Ginger and Daniel Torres; great grandchildren, Drew, Chloe, Raylee and Will; daughter in law, Shirley Kemp, all of Cleburne; special cousin, Annie Jo McCullough of McComb, Mississippi; as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
