Billy Dwayne Peacock passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 in Hillsboro. He was born August 19, 1947 in Cleburne to Charles Lewis and Mary Ellen Johnson Peacock. He married Evelyn Peacock on February 4, 1966 in Cleburne.
Billy Peacock or Bill as he was known around Cleburne and Joshua, was equal parts businessman, entrepreneur and horse trader. And he was quite adept in each of those roles.
But he was even better as a parent and friend. He raised his two daughters and his son with strong values. He taught them not to be afraid of failure, to work as hard as you play, simple things like a sunrise can bring you the greatest joy, and stand up for yourself. Those values are his legacy to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Billy was a benevolent man who cared deeply about those around him and their well-being. His friendship was something one could treasure. It wasn't tangible but you could sense it. He may have expressed it through compassion or by making you the target of one of his endless jokes. During the last year of his life Billy often said "I've been able to do everything I've ever wanted to do in life, I wouldn't change a thing and I have no regrets."
His greatest love was reserved for his wife Evelyn to whom he was married for 48 years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Peacock; son, Jeff Peacock and wife Shana; daughters, Shawn Watson and Cobi Tittle and husband Mark; five grandchildren, Randi Bandy, Blair Pierce, Brieana Peacock, Garrett Peacock, and Thomas Tittle; great grandchild, Atticus Bandy; brother, Dale Peacock; sister, Jana Vaughn; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
