Billy Smitherman

Graveside services for Billy Smitherman, 77, of Covington, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Blum Cemetery. Rev. Sam Houston will officiate.

Billy Smitherman passed away Monday, July 3,2006 in Blum. He was born April 22, 1929 in Evant, Texas to William J. and Annie Sims Smitherman. He married Troy Ritter on December 29, 1956 in Arlington, Texas.

Mr. Smitherman retired from production control with LTV after 35 years of service and was a member of U.A.W. He served in the US Navy from 1946 - 1951 and was owner/operator of Chapparal Country Club in Covington. He was of the Baptist faith.

Biilly Smitherman is survived by his wife, Troy of Covington; four sons, Jerry Smitherman, Joe Smitherman and wife Larissa, Jimmy Smitherman and Jason Smitherman and wife Casey, all of Covington; daughter, Jennifer Tinsley and husband Chad; eight grandchildren, Lynnsey, Justin, Dillion, Austin, Sierra, Jake, Destynee and Marshal.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 2-4p.m.
